IT'S A MATCH
I think we can both agree - best $40 ever spent! We met on match.com - Craig's first month and Melissa's like 20th. I can honestly say we both felt like our run on match.com was wrapping up when Craig sent a message to me about my hair. With a cancelation of my match account on my end prior to Craig's new message - we had exchanged numbers rather quickly with concerns we would have lost communication with each other. We chatted for about a month before meeting as I (Melissa) was freshly moved back to Texas from San Francisco and between wrapping up Levi's job and starting a bike ride across California as a fundraiser. It was during that bike ride I got to really know Craig and learned how big his heart is and how truly caring he is. He was constantly checking in on me making sure I had made it to the next stop in the day and each final destination stops in the route. Shortly after my return to Houston from California - we had agreed to meet. It was the day before our official first date where I had gone on a small shopping spree just to return to my car with a flat tire on my car. THE IRONY of biking 565 miles - zero flats to a flat tire on my vehicle. I had made a call to Triple A as that was my only way to get this fixed. I sent a picture to Craig laughing about the above comment about the bike ride with no flats. He said he could come fix it for me. With my phone call already in the queue and a hour wait - I had my hair up and no outfit ready for a first meeting so I pushed it off on his help. He insisted for about 1.5 hours and no sighting of Triple A coming anytime soon - I agreed finally for him to come help. When in route, Triple A arrived and had fixed tire. With Craig already on the way - we agreed to dinner. Our first official meeting being a Taco Cabana parking lot (so romantic).
We bonded quickly over our love of sports, comedy, gambling, travel, and of course cocktails! Everything is a competition for us when it comes to sports - I (Melissa) am still trying to figure out what I can beat Craig in. I confidently showed up to what would have been our real first date at Top Golf thinking I was going to beat him (an ex golf pro shop employee and all around pretty good golfer). We look back and laugh about how we could have almost ended up at the same University together both as athletes. We are very thankful for our paths to have crossed when and how they did! Looking forward to celebrating with everyone in Mexico!
